Tonino Lamborghini Mobile on Tuesday, i.e. 6 January, 2015, announced the global launch of the stainless steel-and-leather handset at Las Vegas.
The CEO of Lamborghini mobile was quoted as saying, “Luxury is not a need, but it is a way to stand out!“
He reportedly said this when reporters expressed doubts about the demand of such an overpriced gadget. The company obviously plans to target the ultra-rich strata of the society by this product.
And rightly so. It’s just a state of mind. Everyone has a different way of looking at things. For some, luxury might be sitting in Audi, for some it might be relaxing on a beech or a resort, for some true luxury is having good food. Wholly depends upon the way you look at it, how much importance does it have in your life. Only time will tell that if targeting a specific portion of audience goes in their favor or not!!
The smartphone boasts a 2.3 GHz quad-core snapdragon processor, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage, a 5-inch display running at 1920 x 1080, 20 megapixel primary camera with a dual LED flash and a 8 megapixel front camera. The phone runs on stock android.
The 88 Tauri handset is offered in black, gold and steel silver and is finished with a high-grade leather, available in five colors. Each phone is assembled by hand and receives a unique device number.
Despite an uncertain economy and declining prices for mobile devices, the Italian-based company says it may be unable to meet demand.
But the question is can this device prove anything more than a gaudy bijouterie? We leave this question up to you to answer to yourself. Our motto is to allude and that’s probably been achieved!
Note: The company is not related to Lamborghini automobiles, which are now produced by a division of Volkswagen, but was created by Tonino Lamborghini, the son of the famed auto designer Ferruccio Lamborghini.
