In our school life, when we were asked about our goals or aims in life, we simply used to answer; I want to become a doctor or engineer or a pilot. And I remember it used to change for me every single day… every day I was fascinated by some or the other profession.
Are these really called goals???
I feel profession or getting some materialistic things are just small aims about which we are conscious, but the main aim of our life remains unnamed…
I really don’t know how to define a goal in life, but for me it is something eternal… Goals are just indefinable and that’s what really makes them so very special.
A famous saying to which I truly agree with : “A man should have any number of little aims about which he should be conscious and for which he should have names, but he should have neither name for, nor consciousness concerning, the main aim of his life.”
So the question is, “what is that unnamed goal?”
I feel it’s related to satisfaction, happiness and real peace of mind… Because these things are something we all want to have, it’s just that they are suppressed somewhere in our hearts when we keep on running in this materialistic world.
Unfortunately, only a few lucky people manage to achieve these.
Abstract goals are the very destination of life…
Remember earning good and being rich just can’t be a goal; some people have it all, then also they find something missing and some don’t have everything but they accept the fact and remain satisfied.
What I would like to conclude is happiness is the ultimate goal and the destination of my life (which might be the same for many), which is closely related to satisfaction and real peace of mind.
So whenever someone asks you about your goal and you are unable to answer him/her, then you are on the right track!
