“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.”     – STEVE JOBS

We all admire rich, successful people and wish to be like them. We read biographies and watch biopics. They all share some common things like determination, hard work and most important, passion.

Go through the following real life examples:

Ford’s father was a farmer and wished his son to do the same. But young Henri’s heart was with Motor engineering. After several arguments with his father, he decided to follow his heart and created history by becoming world’s richest entrepreneur.

Being the eldest son, Akio was expected to take over the family business. However, his interest laid in Electronics, which is exactly what he did and became Sony’s Chairman.

Edison worked for more than 18 hours a day and used to say that he never really worked as it was all fun.

Bill Gates left his Harvard studies midway to follow his heart and that’s what made him the richest man in the world. Later, he designated himself the chief software architect in order to give time to his real love.

Michael Dell had passion for computers and this lead to the foundation of DELL when he was just 19.

Being a girl, Mary was not allowed to follow her passion. She faced great hardships and had stern arguments, but never gave up on her dream mid-way.

These all people followed their heart and not the crowd; enlightened the path for rest of the human race to follow.

“A student scoring good is supposed to opt for Science stream after high school”, this is the general stereotype of the society these days. Because of these typecasts only, today most of us are opting for engineering, medicine, accounting and all. Where is our individuality gone? Where is the space for innovation and idea? The fact is we all are running in a race without knowing the finish line. Herd mentality and following the crowd can never help you reach the desired destination in life.

Follow your heart

Can leaving behind your passion and struggling for some other goal earn you satisfaction? Life is nothing without satisfaction. Why just for the sake of earning good or for following the general norms of the society, we leave our passion, our dreams half-way and accept whatever that comes our way in the name of destiny? And these unfulfilled dreams are set somewhere in the corner of our heart and hurt us till the last day of our lives. What’s the use of such money? Can that money bring you satisfaction? What we are left with is a heavy heart and regrets…

Follow your heart

The only way to a happy and satisfied life is holding your passion and following it, not the majority. Don’t give a damn to the demoralizing people in the society as they are the new age chameleons who keep on changing their words with respect to the situations.

Just believe in your uniqueness. Stand by your principles. You are one of a kind, specially created and specially designed. Try your best and leave the rest to destiny and the almighty to decide.

Go and bend the rules rest all will follow…

Remember, we get one and only one life, listen to your heart, you know where to go…
