Riding high on the success of the Asus Zenfone 5, Asus has launched another phone in the Zenfone series, the Zenfone C. Last year, Asus surprised everyone when they launched their first smartphones in India at very competitive price points. The Asus Zenfone series is still doing well in the country and is among the best phones in the value for money segment. The phone will be available in red, white and black colours on Flipkart starting February 11 and at Asus exclusive stores starting February 18.
The Asus Zenfone C is a lot like the Zenfone 4 launched last year. However, it is larger with a 4.5-inch screen with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. The rest of the looks are almost identical. It has the signature Asus brushed aluminum finish under the keys and on the volume and power buttons. It is a bit heavy at 149 grams, but in a good way. The rear panel is curved in a slightly vintage way, but I think it still works for the overall design.
Powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Z2520 CloverTrail processor and 1GB RAM, the phone comes with 8GB internal storage expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. Zenfone C sports a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. As per Asus, the phone features the company’s PixelMaster technology to capture up to 400%-brighter photos at night, or in low-light scenes, without the need for a flash. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Asus ZenUI layer on top. The smartphone’s audio is powered by Asus’ SonicMaster technology.
Other specifications of the ZenFone C ZC451CG include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, Glonass, and Micro-USB connectivity options. The smartphone sports a 2100mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 29.8 hours of 3G talk time and up to 260 hours of standby time.
