Rise of the Tomb Raider is an action-adventure video game developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix. It is the sequel to the 2013 video game Tomb Raider, a reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise.
It released on Xbox last year but on the upcoming 11th October, the game is set to release on the Sony Play Station gaming console. This release has been eagerly awaited by gamers all over the word for a long time now. The company spokesperson said in the press conference recently that to make up for the delay the game will include a bunch of new stuff including new mission endings.
Major additions to ‘Rise of Tomb Raider’
The major attraction of this new game will be the VR (Virtual Reality) mode. This news has captivated gaming enthusiasts. A new DLC story chapter called “Blood Ties” will work with the PS VR system; it’ll also work as a standalone chapter without the VR headset.
There is also a new story-line ‘Lara’s Nightmares’. The game also included a latest addition to the tomb raider’s franchise, ‘The endurance mode’. In this part of the game the objective will be to survive as long as possible. The score achieved in this mode can be compared with the other players around the world though a ‘Leaderboard’. The concept is similar to the mode ‘Dead man walking’ present in the ‘Max Payne’ games. The game of also has a co-op mode in which players can team up and play the ‘Endurance mode’. Co-op high scores can also be compared through the leaderboard.
The game also includes new difficulty level ‘Extreme survivor’. All of the game’s checkpoints have been removed, so the only way to survive is to find enough resources to light campfires where you can save your game.
Players can also enjoy the game in low-fi polygon-based character models. All in all, this new release promises to be very exciting and will definitely help the game find new fans.
